How it works

LXT is a Toronto-headquartered AI training data company, founded in 2010, that collects and annotates speech, text, image and video data for enterprise clients. For anyone searching for LXT AI jobs, the crowd work lives elsewhere: LXT's own careers page sends contributors to clickworker, the crowdsourcing platform (with offices in Essen and New York) that LXT agreed to acquire in December 2024. Signing up as a remote contributor for LXT therefore means registering with clickworker, and the pay, payout and support arrangements shown above are clickworker's, as published in its own help centre.

LXT's careers page describes the contributor work as data collection, labelling and transcription, done on your own schedule from home. clickworker itself breaks work into small paid tasks (AI training, voice recordings, surveys, photo tasks, app testing), and it describes itself as one of the UHRS providers with the highest HitApp availability. To be paid you have to complete your payment and tax details and reach the minimum balance for your chosen method; clickworker then includes you in its regular bill run automatically, with no manual withdrawal request.

Separately, LXT hires its own staff in operations, project management and engineering, remote and on-site, with team members in more than ten countries. Those are ordinary jobs posted on LXT's careers page, and their terms have nothing to do with the crowd work described here.

Worth knowing

Good:

• No fixed hours: LXT's careers page describes the crowd work as done on your own schedule, which suits people fitting it round another job
• LXT and clickworker cover an unusually wide spread of languages and countries, so there is often something for speakers of languages that more selective platforms do not recruit for. Compare the language roles on this site
• Payment is automatic once you pass the minimum, with several methods to choose from, and the help centre publishes the bill-run timetable in writing
• Microtask crowds like this are one of the few low-barrier entry points for people without experience, though the pay reflects that

Less good:

• On Trustpilot, clickworker's score is poor across more than 3,000 reviews, and recent 2026 reviews describe very low effective pay on some microtasks, permanent account closures with little explanation, and support replies that feel automated
• LXT's own Trustpilot page is small (six reviews at the time of checking), but most of them describe completed work that was not paid and emails that went unanswered
• Reviews of LXT on Glassdoor list late pay, a shortage of projects and poor communication among the most common complaints, mostly from transcription and project staff
• Microtask pay is per task, so earnings depend heavily on speed and on how much work is available in your language and country at any given time
