What you'll do
This is data review with a privacy edge. micro1's customer project uses business data to train AI systems, and before that data is useful someone has to check it: is it accurate, complete and relevant, and has anything sensitive slipped through?
The work covers:
- Reviewing large business datasets for accuracy, completeness and relevance
- Document review under strict data privacy and PII (personally identifiable information) protocols
- Finding and resolving quality problems: inconsistencies, anomalies, gaps
- Writing detailed feedback and recommendations that shape how the data is used in AI training
- Helping refine the quality standards the review follows
- Keeping every deliverable within the project's privacy and security guidelines
Who fits
Everything the ad lists is a preferred qualification rather than a hard requirement, but the profile is clear:
- Experience handling and analysing large business datasets
- Hands-on work with data containing PII or other sensitive material
- A solid grasp of data privacy regulations and practice
- A background in document review, data QA or audit
- Clear written and spoken communication, and a high bar for accuracy
- A track record of reliable remote work
People coming from compliance review, e-discovery, audit support or data governance will recognise most of this.
What it pays
$31–60/hour, micro1's published band. Nothing in the ad says what places you within it, so plan around the lower end until you see an offer. No compensation structure, weekly hours or project length are published.
How it differs from the other Data Analyst listing
micro1 is running two Data Analyst postings. The other one pays $50–60/hour for just 4 openings and is analytics engineering: running workflows through AI assistants connected to Snowflake and checking their numbers with your own SQL. This one is broader, with 50 openings, and centres on reviewing business data and protecting PII rather than on SQL.
Worth knowing
Good:
- 50 openings, flagged as high demand
- No hard requirements listed, so audit, compliance and document-review backgrounds all fit
- Privacy and PII handling experience is valued directly
Less good:
- The band nearly doubles from bottom to top with no stated basis for placement
- No weekly hours, project length or pay structure stated
- The customer is not named
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
