What you'll do
A writing-quality evaluation project. You read written content and AI-generated responses, check them against detailed guidelines, and judge accuracy, coherence, completeness and whether the instructions were actually followed. For each one you write clear, actionable feedback and log what you found in the project's reporting format: discrepancies, ambiguities, factual problems, things that could be better.
It is a volume job. The ad stresses applying the same criteria consistently across a large amount of work, which rewards editors who can hold a style guide in their head and do not drift after the fiftieth response.
Who fits
- Native US English, with a strong command of grammar, syntax and tone
- A background in professional writing, editing, proofreading, content review or similar writing-heavy work
- The ability to spot small errors and inconsistencies reliably
- Comfort applying detailed evaluation criteria at volume
- Immediate availability for at least 20 hours a week
No degree, subject specialism or AI experience is asked for.
Commitment
This is framed as a four-week initial sprint, with possible extension depending on performance and project needs. You start immediately and commit to a minimum of 20 hours a week for the duration. Treat it as a month of part-time work that may or may not continue.
What it pays
$40–50/hour, a narrow and fairly predictable band. It sits well below micro1's specialist writing-evaluation listings (Educator / Assessor Writer and Technical Writer / Editor are both $90–140), because the bar here is general writing skill rather than domain expertise. At 20 hours a week over four weeks, the minimum commitment is worth roughly $3,200–4,000 on the published band; that is our arithmetic, not a figure from the ad.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A narrow pay band, so less guesswork about where you land
- 50 openings, high demand
- Open to any experienced writer or editor, no specialism needed
- A defined minimum commitment and sprint length
Less good:
- Native US English is a hard requirement
- Only four weeks guaranteed-in-principle; extension is conditional
- 20 hours a week from day one is hard to fit around a full-time job
- The pay mechanism (hourly or per task) is not stated
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
About this listing
Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal and read on 24 September 2026. The $40–50/hour band, the 50 openings, the four-week sprint and the 20-hour minimum are its published text.
