What you'll do

This is listening work with a verdict attached. You hear short Polish audio clips, some from real speakers and some from model output, and rate how native and fluent they sound: pronunciation, intonation and whether the language feels authentically Polish rather than translated or synthesised.

Polish gives a trained ear plenty to catch. Synthetic speech tends to stumble on the things natives never think about: consonant clusters like szcz flattened into something softer, the nasal vowels ą and ę pronounced as spelled rather than as people actually say them, penultimate stress drifting onto the wrong syllable in long words. Hearing that something is off is the easy half; the job is naming what, in plain English, so the judgment is usable.

Every rating needs a written justification in English, and the ad stresses consistency and clarity. You raise ambiguities with the project coordinators and work through assigned review tasks on deadline.

Who fits

  • Native-level Polish, spoken and written
  • English at B2 or above, strong enough to write precise feedback
  • A background in voice work, linguistics, phonetics, music or audio engineering is preferred
  • Experience with audio analysis, transcription or linguistic assessment is highly valued
  • The ability to articulate small differences in how language sounds

A media, communications or teaching background counts as an asset. None of this is framed as a hard requirement, and no AI experience is needed.

What it pays

$30–65/hour, micro1's published band, more than double from floor to ceiling. The ad does not say what places you within it; in practice a phonetics or voice background is the most likely lever, since that is what the preferred qualifications emphasise. No payment schedule is published.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 100 openings and a "High demand" tag
  • A $30 floor, well above micro1's language transcription and recording listings
  • Language teachers, voice actors and audio engineers all have a route in
  • No AI experience needed, and no country restriction stated

Less good:

  • A wide band with no published basis for placement
  • Nativeness rating is subjective, and your justifications are what make it defensible; expect the writing to take as long as the listening
  • No weekly hours, project length or volume are stated
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
  • The customer is not named
