What you'll do

The project wants the full arc of learning design captured, from the first question (what should someone be able to do afterwards?) to the evidence that they can. You write clear, measurable learning objectives for a defined audience, map them into a structured programme of modules and activities, create the instructional content for digital delivery, and build the quizzes and rubrics that check whether the objectives were met.

Programmes are revised as feedback and requirements change, and you document your process so quality stays consistent across contributors. Collaboration is remote throughout.

The model is learning alignment, the thread that should run from an objective through an activity to an assessment item. Weak training programmes lose that thread.

Who fits

  • Proven experience in training, instructional design, adult learning or a related field
  • Skill in writing learning outcomes and mapping them to activities and assessments
  • Experience creating content for varied audiences, especially digital or remote delivery
  • Practical assessment design, including quizzes and rubrics
  • Clear writing and the ability to explain complex ideas in a virtual setting
  • The organisation to juggle several deliverables as the brief evolves

No AI experience is required, and no degree or minimum years are stated.

What it pays

$40–75/hour, micro1's published band. No compensation structure, hours or placement criteria are stated. For corporate L&D freelancers the upper half compares well with typical instructional design contract rates.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Fifty openings and a high-demand flag
  • No degree or minimum years stated
  • The work is a straight use of core instructional design skills
  • Remote, no country restriction stated

Less good:

  • The ad does not say what subject matter the programmes cover
  • No hours, duration or pay structure published
  • The customer is not named
  • Contractor engagement, no benefits
