Labeling Jobs

DataForce by TransPerfect

DataForce is the AI data arm of TransPerfect, the language services company. Its contributor community collects speech, text, photo and video data, annotates it, and takes part in user studies, remotely or on site. Work is project by project, often tied to a language or city, and remote projects pay only after a quality check.

How it works

DataForce is TransPerfect's AI data business, and its community site is where TransPerfect AI training jobs are posted. DataForce describes the community as more than 1.3 million people worldwide, and says signing up takes less than five minutes, after which you choose when and how much you work. It groups the work into four kinds: data sourcing (collecting speech, text, photos or video so a model sees a full range of people and conditions), data annotation of images, audio and text, user studies that test products and workflows, and freelance, part-time and full-time positions on the DataForce team, both remote and in person.

There are two routes in. Individual paid tasks are listed on the projects page, where you preview each project's requirements before taking part. Longer engagements go through a separate application for short- and long-term positions. When we checked the board it held evaluation projects in Spanish for Panama and Mexico, speech collection in France, on-site voice collection in Pune, Hyderabad and Bergen, on-site video collection in several US cities, and a Spanish (US) freelance writing role. Compensation is set per project and stated in each announcement rather than in any platform-wide rate.

Payment setup is back to front compared with most platforms. On your first project, DataForce's payments team contacts you after the project ends to collect payment details and a tax form (a W-9 for US contributors, a W-8 for everyone else). Long-term roles do that financial onboarding before work starts.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Low barrier: a short sign-up, no stated degree requirement, and many projects that only need you to be a native speaker in the right place. Our language roles and audio and voice roles cover similar work
  • On-site studies pay straight after you complete them, according to DataForce's own FAQ
  • DataForce's community page on Trustpilot scored 3.6 out of 5 across 141 reviews when we checked, with 72% five-star; contributors there praise clear instructions and professional, responsive staff

Less good:

  • On remote projects you are not paid until the quality check comes back, and DataForce says that can take anywhere from two to six weeks depending on the project
  • The same Trustpilot page is sharply split: 21% of reviews are one-star. Contributors there describe submissions rejected for technicalities such as faint background noise (April 2026), never being paid for a completed project (March 2026), and support that stops replying partway through a query (August 2026)
  • Many projects are tied to one country, city or dialect, and each project is a one-off, so this is occasional side income rather than a steady stream of work

About this page

Facts above come from the DataForce community site at dataforcecommunity.transperfect.com (its home page, projects board and payment FAQ) and from dataforce.ai, last checked 29 September 2026. The payment methods shown are the ones DataForce's FAQ lists, and which of them you can use depends on your location.

DataForce publishes pay per project rather than a platform-wide range, so the typical-pay fields are empty. It publishes no country list either, because eligibility is set project by project. Worker reports come from Trustpilot and are attributed in the sentence that makes the claim. For how per-task and per-project pay compare, see how you actually get paid.
