How it works

The platform long known as TELUS International AI now calls itself TELUS Digital AI, and its contributor network the TELUS Digital AI Community; the old telusinternational.ai address still works. The FAQ describes TELUS Digital as the digital solutions division of TELUS, the Canadian telecoms company, which completed its purchase of the TELUS Digital shares it did not already own on 31 October 2025.

Work is posted as individual roles, each with its own locale, weekly hours and rate. Search and AI quality rating is the classic entry point. A current Quality Assurance Rater posting for Australia, for example, asks for five consecutive years of residence in the country and 10 to 20 hours a week, and requires project-specific training and qualification exams before any work, with ongoing quality reviews after. The FAQ lists prompt writing and evaluation, expert review, data annotation and content evaluation as common task types.

The application steps vary by project. The FAQ describes pre-screening questions, a Contributor Services Agreement, one-time ID verification, and qualification exams that usually allow a stated number of retakes. If no roles are open in your country, it suggests registering and waiting for future postings.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Each posting states its rate and expected hours before you apply
  • The FAQ carries a clear scam guide: recruiters only write from @telusinternational.com, @telusdigital.com or @telusinternational.ai addresses, and TELUS never asks for payment or banking details during an application
  • It operates at scale: the homepage claims 104+ countries, 75K+ active experts and $750M+ paid out

Less good:

  • Rating roles carry strict residency rules, like the five years on the Australian posting above, and role availability depends on your country and language
  • The FAQ itself says the number of projects you get depends on your skills, your location and customer demand. The r/TELUSinternational subreddit runs a weekly "NTA (No Tasks Available)" thread to contain the volume of posts about missing work
  • Quality reviews dominate rater discussion. In September 2026 posts on r/TELUSinternational, one rater described repeated weekly knowledge checks and a quality status stuck at "slightly below standard" despite recent scores of 80 percent or better; another reported a separation email days after being placed on review
  • The Trustpilot page for telusinternational.ai has only 14 reviews and a TrustScore of 1.8; recent reviewers describe jobs unavailable after passing assessments and unanswered support emails. The sample is too small to weigh heavily

About this page

Facts above come from telusinternational.ai (the homepage, the public FAQ and a public job posting) and from TELUS's announcement of the share purchase, last checked 29 September 2026. Rates are set per role and differ widely by country and language, so the pay fields on this page are empty rather than averaged. Worker reports come from r/TELUSinternational and Trustpilot and are attributed where they appear. For comparable work, browse AI safety and evaluation jobs or language jobs.
