What you'll do
You write questions and case studies that probe whether an AI model really understands behavioral economics: cognitive biases, heuristics, prospect theory, loss aversion, framing effects, choice architecture, nudge design and experimental design. You then evaluate model responses, giving detailed feedback on whether they match the research literature and accepted methods.
You work alongside behavioral science and technical experts to calibrate difficulty. Expect to spend as much time constructing a question with a clean, defensible answer as grading the model's attempt.
Who fits
- A master's or PhD in economics, behavioral economics, psychology or a related field
- Proven research, experimental design or applied behavioral science experience, with command of both theory and empirical methods
Preferred: several years across applications (academic research, policy design, consulting, product design), publications or experimental studies, hands-on nudge, choice-architecture or A/B testing work, and some familiarity with AI-driven behavioral applications. The ad lists the research-experience requirement twice; it is a single requirement. This listing has no credential field on the application form.
What it pays
The board shows $80/hr. The ad gives no range. That is the lowest figure in this finance batch, which reflects the academic profile more than the difficulty of the work. Payment terms and weekly hours are not published on the listing.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A rare outlet for academic behavioral science to be paid at a professional hourly rate
- Remote and async, which suits researchers with teaching or lab schedules
- The subject matter (biases, framing, nudges) is where models often sound confident and still err, so your corrections matter
Less good:
- A graduate degree is required, so it is closed to practitioners without one
- Pay is lower than the finance and accounting roles in the same department
- No stated hours or volume, and payment terms are not published on the listing
