What you'll do
This is AfterQuery's general pool: if your profession does not have its own listing, this is the door. You review and annotate text, documents and model-generated outputs using structured labelling frameworks, and judge accuracy, quality and appropriateness where professional judgment is needed. Beyond the label itself, you give written reasoning with source citations, flag ambiguous or out-of-scope samples with a clear explanation, and document decisions so they are consistent and reproducible against project guidelines.
Expect volume: the ad asks for sustained accuracy across large numbers of review tasks.
Who fits
- 3+ years of professional experience in a field that needs specialised expertise, such as law, medicine, engineering, finance or science (required)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking (required)
- Excellent writing, producing clear, structured, citation-supported annotations (required)
- Able to work independently and follow detailed guidelines (required)
- Preferred: prior annotation, content review or model-evaluation work; familiarity with labelling platforms; an advanced degree or certification; experience writing legal memos, research reports or technical documentation
What it pays
The board shows $43/hr and the ad gives no range. The ad calls the pay "exceptional" and does not publish payment terms, minimum hours or a schedule; see the company page for how AfterQuery pays.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Open to any professional domain, so it suits careers without a dedicated listing
- Remote and project-based
- Annotation experience is only preferred, not required
Less good:
- Generic by design: the ad names no specific projects or domains of work
- $43/hr is a general rate; domain-specific AfterQuery listings are posted separately and may state their own figures
- The ad does not describe the hiring process
