What you'll do
You write realistic economic evaluations from research question through recommendation, write reference answers with the methodological reasoning behind each choice, and grade AI output for analytical soundness and defensibility of assumptions. You also flag analyses that read plausibly but would mislead a payer or a regulator, which is the skill that separates a modeller from a model.
Who fits
- A graduate degree (MS, MPH or PhD) in health economics, economics, public health, epidemiology or a related quantitative field
- At least 3 years of professional or research experience in health economics or outcomes research
- Hands-on experience building economic models, with depth in cost-effectiveness modelling, budget impact, real world evidence or HTA submissions
- Clear written English for documenting methodological reasoning
- A commitment of at least 10 hours a week
Preferred: submissions to NICE, ICER, CADTH, PBAC, IQWiG or AMCP; modelling in R, TreeAge, Excel and VBA, Stata or SAS; claims or EHR database work (MarketScan, Optum, IQVIA, Medicare, SEER-Medicare, Flatiron); and ISPOR membership or publications. The preferred list also carries a few clinical items (precepting NP students, DNP, chart review) that look carried over from another ad, so treat them as optional.
What it pays
The board headlines $120/hr, while the ad text states a range of $90 to $150 per hour, paid hourly via Stripe. The listing does not publish payment frequency, hiring steps or contract terms beyond the 10-hour weekly minimum; see the company page for how AfterQuery pays. Hours are fully async, with no client deadlines or billable hour targets.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A high band, and the only AfterQuery medicine listing aimed at quantitative methods
- No client deadlines and no billable hour targets
- Hours you set each week
Less good:
- A graduate degree and 3 years of experience are required
- The listing does not publish its hiring steps, so expect the standard AfterQuery assessment process described on the company page
- A 10-hour weekly minimum
