Skills
  • technology consulting
  • solution architecture
  • change management
  • vendor selection
  • stakeholder management
  • evaluation

What you'll do

You write consulting and solutions questions and case studies that challenge AI models, and you evaluate the models' answers. The ad lists requirements gathering, solution architecture, change management, vendor selection, project delivery, stakeholder management and technology strategy as example topics. You give detailed feedback on whether a response is accurate and follows professional services best practice, and you work with a team of technology and technical experts to tune question difficulty.

The scenarios the ad describes are client engagements, systems implementations and strategic technology decisions, so it suits people who have sat on the delivery side of those.

Who fits

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience in technology consulting, professional services delivery, systems integration or IT strategy, with a solid grasp of service delivery models and client engagement
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and an eye for detail

Preferred: multiple years across technology domains and industry verticals, involvement in thought leadership or technology transformation, certifications such as PMP, ITIL, cloud or Agile/Scrum, or an advanced degree (MBA, MS), and familiarity with AI in professional services.

What it pays

The board shows $80/hr. The ad text states no range, so that is the single figure used. The ad does not say how or when you are paid, or how many hours a week to expect; the company page covers AfterQuery's published payment arrangements.

How the process works

The ad does not describe its hiring steps. AfterQuery's help centre describes an unpaid, one-attempt assessment and ID verification; see the AfterQuery company page.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Remote, flexible and asynchronous, per the ad
  • Equivalent professional experience can replace a degree
  • The ad describes the company as Y Combinator-backed

Less good:

  • No hours, payment terms or hiring process in the ad itself
  • The work is writing and reviewing, not consulting for clients
  • The ad does not spell out contractor status; confirm the terms at onboarding
