What you'll do
This is expert human-evaluation work for a biotech and pharma research team, framed as a paid pilot with the possibility of continuing as it scales. The core output is rubrics: structured criteria for analysing commercial drugs and drug-development programs, which you both write and critique.
Per the ad, you will:
- Create and critique rubrics that analyse commercial drugs and development programs
- Assess companies and assets overall: mechanism, clinical data, competitive position and value drivers
- Judge the quality of an investment-style thesis, flagging assumptions that are weak, overconfident or missing
- Apply that assessment across the pilot's set of roughly 5–10 companies
The skill being bought is the one a specialist-fund analyst uses before an investment committee: reading a data readout, placing it against the competitive field, and saying clearly which part of the bull case rests on hope. The stated aim is to improve expert AI evaluation of drugs and development programs.
Who fits
- A biotech or healthcare investment analyst with a specialist-fund background (generalist funds are not what the ad describes)
- 5+ years evaluating biotech or pharma companies or assets
- Familiarity with drug-development programs
- The ability to assess a drug asset and the company behind it end to end
The ad is inconsistent about location. The header says "US-based or deep US-market experience", while the requirements and engagement details say US-based. No formal location requirement list is published, so we have not marked this as US-only, but non-US applicants should expect to need strong US-market coverage and should confirm eligibility first.
What it pays
$120–200 per hour. At the estimated 10–20 hours over a 1–2 week pilot, that is roughly $1,200–4,000 for the pilot, with recurring work offered to strong contributors, per the ad. Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A high rate for a short, bounded pilot
- Uses genuine specialist-fund judgment rather than generic grading
- A stated path to recurring work
- Small scope (5–10 companies) makes the commitment predictable
Less good:
- Specialist-fund background is the stated profile, which excludes many sell-side and generalist analysts
- Location wording is contradictory
- H-1B and STEM OPT holders are excluded
- Contractor terms; the pilot can be extended, shortened or concluded early
