Cardiologist: Clinical Consultant (ATTR Cardiac Amyloidosis)

What you'll do

An AI healthcare company that automates administrative and pharmacy workflows wants its model to find patients who probably have ATTR cardiac amyloidosis before anyone has named it. You are the labelling standard that model learns from.

In practice that means reading patient charts, often with gaps, and giving each one a likelihood call. Every call needs written, evidence-based reasoning that separates ATTR from the conditions it hides behind, with uncertainty stated rather than smoothed over. You apply consistent labelling rules across batches, revisit your assessments when new evidence or model feedback comes in, explain your decisions to engineers and data scientists, and deliver batches on agreed timelines.

What makes this harder than ordinary chart review: ATTR is underdiagnosed precisely because its early signals are scattered (a carpal tunnel history here, a low-voltage ECG with a thick wall there). The model needs your pattern recognition written down as explicit criteria a non-cardiologist could apply. Expect most of the effort to go into articulating judgments you normally make in seconds.

Who fits

• MD or DO with a completed internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship
• Currently practising cardiologist, 2+ years post-fellowship
• Hands-on experience working up and managing suspected or confirmed ATTR cardiomyopathy, including ordering and interpreting PYP scans
• Able to commit 10–20 hours a week and turn clinical judgment into clear, structured criteria
• US-based

Strong preference for heart failure or transplant cardiologists with advanced heart failure experience, or amyloidosis and cardiomyopathy specialists. Also preferred: work at an amyloidosis centre of excellence or cardiomyopathy clinic, publications on ATTR screening, epidemiology or diagnostic pathways, or prior work with AI/ML teams, clinical decision-support or chart labelling.

$120–150 per hour. At 10–20 hours a week that is roughly $1,200 to $3,000 weekly before tax. The ad does not say what places you in the band; the strong preference for heart failure and amyloidosis specialists is the likeliest lever.
