What you'll do
This is adult inpatient chart verification for an AI training project. You read medical records, both raw FHIR data and clinical notes, and decide whether each clinical statement or claim is actually supported by the record. The documentation is the kind an internist writes on every admission: HPI, PMH, medication reconciliation, social history, assessments and plans.
What sets this listing apart from micro1's general hospitalist postings is the pharmacology angle. The ad asks you to catch renal- and hepatic-adjusted dosing errors and medication interactions, alongside age-appropriate clinical detail. In practice that means the useful reviewer is the one who notices a full-dose renally cleared drug next to a creatinine that has been climbing for three days, not just a missing allergy entry.
You work to a written guideline, apply it the same way every time, and feed back on where the models and the data fall short.
Who fits
- MD or DO, board certified in internal medicine (a Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine designation also counts)
- At least five years of hospitalist experience
- Inpatient hospitalist work within the last two years
- Solid command of admission notes, daily progress notes, transitions of care and discharge
- Comfort reading raw medical record data, not just the EHR view of it
- Chart review, CDI, utilization review or coding/QA experience is a plus
The ad lists these as preferred qualifications rather than hard cut-offs, but with fifty openings and a five-year bar, expect screening to lean on them.
What it pays
$80–125/hour as published, but the compensation note matters more than the band: pay is output-based, per task that meets the project specification, and there is a minimum weekly submission requirement (the ad does not give the number). Your effective hourly rate therefore depends on how fast you can verify a chart to standard. Hospitalists who already do CDI or utilization review will likely sit nearer the top.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Fifty openings, flagged new and high demand
- The dosing and interaction focus rewards real internal medicine judgment rather than box-ticking
- Same band as the pediatric and family medicine hospitalist listings posted alongside it
- Remote, with no country restriction stated
Less good:
- Per-task pay means the hourly figure is not guaranteed
- A weekly minimum applies, with the number unpublished
- The five-year and two-year recency bars exclude early-career and recently retired hospitalists
- No duration or start date stated
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
