What you'll do
You review everyday professional work product (documents, slides, spreadsheets and similar written materials) and judge it for quality, accuracy, clarity and completeness. Alongside each rating you write out your reasoning, compare and rank AI-generated outputs against defined criteria, and flag errors, inconsistencies and gaps in reasoning or formatting. Those judgements train frontier models on what good real-world work actually looks like.
The role wants a careful generalist rather than a specialist. Deep expertise in any one field is explicitly not what is being screened for; strong judgement, close reading and clear written reasoning are. The work is hourly, fully remote, and done on your own schedule.
What you need
- A bachelor's degree, listed as a minimum rather than a preference
- Residence in the United States or Canada
- Excellent reading comprehension and written English
- Sound judgement across subject matter you have no special training in
- Comfort working independently across docs, slides and spreadsheets
No prior AI or machine-learning experience is required; the guidelines and context come with the project.
One eligibility limit the ad states plainly: this role cannot support H-1B or STEM OPT candidates.
What it pays
$50–70 per hour. That figure is printed in the ad, not an estimate of ours.
You are engaged as an independent contractor rather than an employee, so the headline rate is not directly comparable to a salaried hourly wage: no benefits, no paid leave, and your own tax to set aside.
Worth knowing
Good:
- The rate is published in the ad rather than discovered after screening, and $50–70/hour is high for review work that asks for no specialisation
- No AI or ML background needed; the guidelines come with the project
- Genuinely asynchronous: no shifts, no set hours
- Broad subject matter rather than one narrow domain
Less good:
- The degree requirement is a hard gate regardless of track record
- The ad states projects can be extended, shortened or concluded early depending on need and performance, so neither hours nor duration are guaranteed
- H-1B and STEM OPT holders are excluded
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, self-managed tax
- No indication of how many hours a week are actually available, so treat this as variable income until you have seen your own task supply
