Music Production Expert - Russian

What you'll do

Mercor is recruiting Russian-speaking producers and engineers to evaluate generative music models for an unnamed leading AI lab. You listen critically, compare and label:

• Pairwise judgments: pick the stronger of two AI-generated songs on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality and production or mix quality
• Labelling: genre, song structure, instruments, vocals and other musical features
• Lyrics and vocals: review AI-written lyrics and AI vocals against reference material for quality and accuracy

For the Russian variant, the specialist value is hearing whether a generated track sounds like it belongs in Russian-language music: whether stress in the lyrics lands on strong beats (Russian word stress is free and unmarked, so AI often gets it wrong when setting words to music), whether a "Russian rock" or "estrada" prompt actually produces something idiomatic, and whether vocal diction sounds native.

Who fits

• Native or near-native Russian, and able to follow detailed English instructions
• 2+ years as a music producer, audio engineer or mixing engineer
• Headphones or monitors suitable for critical listening

Nice to have: formal music training, credited or commercially released work, and broad knowledge of contemporary Russian genres and artists.

What it pays

$35–49 per hour, Mercor's published range, roughly double the Thai version of the same role ($18). The ad does not say what places you in the band; released credits and mixing depth are the plausible levers. The project may move to per-task pay later, with the effective hourly rate intended to stay the same.

Weekly payments on Stripe or Wise. H-1B and STEM OPT candidates are excluded.

Commitment

Immediate start, up to six months, flexible hours with most experts around 20 a week and no cap.
