What you'll do
This is computer-use data: an AI agent learning to operate Clio needs recordings of people who know it well doing real work in it. You take assigned workflows (opening a matter, adding a client and contacts, setting tasks and calendar entries, managing documents, logging time, raising a bill) and complete them in Clio while recording your screen, showing each step clearly.
Then you turn each workflow into training material: a realistic prompt that would have triggered it, a detailed rubric for judging whether an agent did it correctly, and written documentation of the steps and the Clio features you used. You also review completed tasks against the project guidelines.
The rubric is where legal-operations experience pays off. Knowing that a matter opened without a conflict check or with the wrong billing method is "done" but wrong is exactly what a good rubric has to capture.
Who fits
All listed as preferred:
- Strong hands-on Clio experience in a law firm, legal department or legal operations setting
- Current access to Clio and the ability to use it independently
- Comfort recording and sharing your screen
- Experience with matter, client and document management, legal tasks, time tracking or billing
- A background in legal operations, legal assistance, paralegal work, firm administration or legal tech
- Prior human data work (annotation, RLHF, AI response or model evaluation) is listed too
What it pays
$30–100/hour, micro1's published band. The spread is more than 3x and the ad does not say what decides placement, whether pay is per task, or how many hours are available. Given the Human Data experience preference, it is plausible that prior annotation work moves you up the band, but that is our guess.
Before you apply
Recording your screen in a live Clio account can expose client names, matter details and billing data. Check whether the project supplies a sandbox or test data, and do not record real client information from a firm account without your firm's permission; the ad does not address this.
Worth knowing
Good:
- New listing with 40 openings
- A practical fit for paralegals and legal ops staff, not only lawyers
- Documenting workflows you already know is quick to ramp up on
Less good:
- You must already have Clio access, which excludes people between firms
- Confidentiality of recorded client data is not addressed in the ad
- No compensation structure, hours or hiring steps published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
