Skills
  • document review
  • pii handling
  • data privacy
  • spot-checks
  • quality assurance
  • attention to detail

What you'll do

This is quality control on privacy-sensitive data. Documents containing personally identifiable information have already been transformed by some upstream process (the ad does not say what, but redaction, anonymisation or restructuring for AI training are the usual candidates), and your job is to check that it worked.

You review documents after transformation for accuracy and completeness, spot-check for information that slipped through or inconsistencies between records, and flag problems with data integrity, privacy or formatting. Each spot-check also comes with qualitative questions you answer with reasons, and you write up findings concisely so the pipeline can be fixed as well as the document.

The skill is sustained attention. A missed phone number in the footer of page 40 is the kind of error this role exists to catch, and spot-checking at volume is where concentration slips.

Who fits

All listed as preferred:

  • Document review experience, particularly with sensitive or confidential material
  • Solid knowledge of PII handling and data-privacy practice
  • A methodical approach to quality assurance and a strong eye for detail
  • Experience spot-checking or auditing large volumes of data
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to justify findings
  • A background in compliance, legal or data privacy is an advantage

No degree, years or country requirement is stated.

What it pays

$31–60/hour, micro1's published band. That is close to typical rates for first-level legal document review in the US, with a higher ceiling. No compensation structure, weekly hours or project length is stated.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 50 openings, flagged as high demand
  • A natural fit for contract document reviewers and paralegals between matters
  • Clear, bounded task: check, flag, explain

Less good:

  • Working with real personal data means confidentiality and security obligations you should ask about up front (device rules, NDAs, data-handling terms)
  • Repetitive, volume-driven work
  • No hours, duration or hiring steps published
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
