Skills
  • github
  • git
  • github actions
  • ci/cd
  • rubric writing
  • screen recording

What you'll do

This is computer-use data. You carry out assigned workflows inside GitHub (creating and managing repositories, branching, committing, merging, opening and reviewing pull requests, working with issues and collaboration features) and you record your screen while you do it, showing each step clearly.

From each completed workflow you then write a realistic prompt that would ask an agent to do the same thing, plus a detailed rubric for judging whether it did. You document the steps and explain which GitHub features you used and why, and you review outputs against the project guidelines.

The value you add is knowing how GitHub is actually used day to day, including the parts that are clumsy in the UI. Agents trained on this kind of data are meant to operate the site the way an experienced developer does.

Who fits

  • Strong hands-on GitHub use in professional, project or open-source work
  • Comfort with Git version control and GitHub Actions / CI/CD
  • Previous human-data work (annotation, labelling, RLHF, response or model evaluation) is preferred
  • Your own GitHub access and the ability to work on the platform independently
  • Comfortable recording and sharing your screen
  • Able to explain a technical workflow clearly in writing

What it pays

$90–175/hour, micro1's published figure. That is a high ceiling for work that is closer to careful documentation than to engineering, and nearly a 2x spread. The ad does not say what places you in the band or whether pay is hourly or per task.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Everyday GitHub fluency is the core skill; no deep engineering bar stated
  • Previous annotation or RLHF work is a stated plus, so experienced AI trainers have an edge
  • 40 openings on a newly posted listing
  • High published ceiling

Less good:

  • Screen recording is part of the job; keep personal repos, tokens and notifications out of view
  • Pay structure and placement criteria not stated
  • No hours, duration or start date published
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
