What you'll do
This is the entry point to micro1's contract-redlining work. You take part in simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises, review how an AI model handles contract scenarios, and give feedback on where it misread risk or language.
One word in the scope separates this from the senior versions. The senior listings ask you to create evaluation frameworks and grading criteria; this one asks you to apply them. You score against a rubric someone else designed rather than writing the rubric. That is a narrower job, and a reasonable place to learn how AI evaluation works before moving to the design side. You also work with product and research teams on the data and guidelines behind an AI contract review product.
Who fits
- One to three years of transactional experience, in-house or at a firm, with exposure to agreements such as MSAs and NDAs
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with close attention to detail
- The ability to turn legal knowledge into clear feedback for an AI team
- An interest in where law and technology meet
- Comfort on cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced settings
Preferred: prior exposure to AI, legal tech or training projects, and experience or an internship at a corporate law firm, ideally near M&A or fund formation work. The card also tags LPAs and ISDAs. No JD accreditation, bar admission or jurisdiction is stated, and the location is simply "Remote".
What it pays
$70–90/hour. That is $20 to $40 below the senior redlining listings on micro1's $90–130 band, which is a fair trade for a one-year floor. Unlike those listings, this ad does not publish a task-based compensation section or an average handling time, so whether this rate is paid per hour or per task is not stated. Ask before starting, because it changes what the number is worth.
Worth knowing
Good:
- One year of transactional work is enough to apply; internships count toward the preferred profile
- No bar admission or accreditation requirement stated
- 100 openings, posted the day we read it and flagged high demand
- A narrow $20 band, so less guesswork about placement than on micro1's wider ranges
- A practical way to build AI evaluation experience early in a legal career
Less good:
- The lowest pay among micro1's current contract-redlining roles
- You apply other people's rubrics rather than shaping them
- The pay mechanism is not stated
- No start date, weekly hours or project length given
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
