What you'll do
AI models are increasingly asked to do analyst work: clean a data set, reconcile two sources, answer a business question from a table. This project needs experienced analysts to judge whether they get it right, and to keep sensitive data out of the training mix along the way. The ad describes five strands:
- PII review: go through data sets, flag personally identifiable information and follow privacy best practice
- Grading AI analysis: assess AI responses to data and business analysis scenarios and give expert feedback on accuracy and precision
- QA: validate data quality, flag inconsistencies and check that analytical results are correct
- Evaluation design: write objective frameworks and grading criteria for AI performance on analytical tasks
- Guidelines: work with product and research teams to refine data, guidelines and best practices
The evaluation-design strand is what makes this senior. Grading one answer is QA work; writing the criteria that decide what a correct answer looks like across thousands of tasks is closer to benchmark design.
Who fits
- A bachelor's degree in business, analytics, statistics, information systems or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years as a business analyst or data analyst working with large business data sets
- Hands-on QA: data validation, reconciliation and checking analytical outputs
- Proven experience handling data that contains PII and other sensitive material
- Based in the US
Preferred: SQL, Excel and BI or visualisation tools; an advanced degree or a business analysis or analytics certification; earlier exposure to AI, data labelling or model evaluation.
What it pays
$50–80/hour, micro1's published band, for a part-time role. The ad does not say how many hours a week, how long the project runs or what decides your rate within the band.
micro1 also runs a Data Analyst (Business Data and PII Review) listing on similar work at $31–60/hour. This senior version asks for three years of experience and adds evaluation-framework design, and pays noticeably more at both ends of the band.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A strong rate for part-time analyst work
- 30 openings, flagged high demand
- Designing grading criteria is a transferable AI evaluation skill
- Equivalent experience accepted in place of a degree
Less good:
- US only
- Part-time, with no weekly hours stated
- PII review is careful, repetitive work
- No duration or pay structure published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits and your own tax to manage
