What you'll do

The output here is explanation as much as code. You design and implement software in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js or across the full stack, but the part that feeds the AI is what surrounds it: worked programming examples, explanations of why a solution is shaped the way it is, and the problem-solving path you took to get there.

Alongside that you review code and give actionable feedback on function, performance and standards, write technical documentation that justifies architectural decisions, and weigh in on architecture and best practice. You also analyse requirements and communicate findings and trade-offs in writing and in calls.

Who fits

  • Five or more years as a professional, consultant or specialist in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js or full-stack development
  • Experience designing and reviewing complex architectures and codebases
  • A habit of writing documentation people actually use
  • Constructive, specific code review
  • The ability to explain a complex software idea in plain words
  • Comfort working remotely across a distributed team

Exposure to AI, machine learning or training datasets is a nice-to-have only; the ad says no prior AI experience is required.

What it pays

$60–75/hour, micro1's published band. That is unusually narrow for micro1, with only $15 between floor and ceiling, which makes the rate much more predictable than on its wide-band engineering listings. No compensation structure, weekly hours or project length is published, so whether pay is per hour or per task is not stated.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A tight, predictable pay band
  • Writing and reviewing skills count as much as raw coding speed
  • Accepts generalists across four stacks
  • 15 openings, flagged high demand
  • No country restriction stated

Less good:

  • The five-year bar is firm and explicit
  • The ad is vague on what a single task looks like
  • No hours, duration or pay mechanism stated
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits and your own tax to manage

About this listing

Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal about a month before we read it on 24 September 2026. The $60–75/hour band, 15 openings and five-year experience preference are its published text. The customer project is described only as focused on digital innovation. See micro1.
