What you'll do
You supply clean Telugu speech for training language AI. The work covers both scripted recordings (reading prepared text) and unscripted ones (natural speech on a prompt), all in standard Telugu with natural tone and accurate pronunciation.
The technical bar is the defining feature. The ad asks for professional-grade audio with high fidelity and minimal background noise, recorded on proper equipment, and you review and clean up your own files so they pass the project's quality benchmarks before submission. Expect format, level and noise-floor specifications you have to hit consistently, not just a clear voice.
Clarifications and feedback come through remote written and spoken contact with the project team.
Who fits
- Native-level Telugu with clear, accurate pronunciation
- At least three years in audio recording, voiceover or related production work
- Hands-on skill with professional recording hardware and software
- Care in capturing, editing and delivering files
- Responsive written and spoken communication, in English with the project team
- A portfolio of Telugu audio work is highly desirable
- Previous audio data work for research, media or technology projects is a plus
One practical note from the ad: you must use your professional recording setup during the interview itself, so have it ready before you apply.
What it pays
$10–30/hour, micro1's published band. The top is three times the floor with no published basis for placement, and no compensation structure is stated (per hour of your time, per finished minute of audio, or per script is not said). For voiceover professionals used to per-finished-minute rates, ask exactly how output is measured.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A rare listing aimed specifically at Telugu speakers
- 25 openings
- Scripted and unscripted work gives some variety
- No country restriction named, so the Telugu diaspora can apply as well as speakers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Less good:
- $10 is a low floor for someone with three years' professional experience and their own studio kit
- Professional equipment is a precondition, at your own cost
- No pay basis, hours or project length published
- Recorded voice data can be reused in ways you do not control; read the contract's licensing terms
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
