What you'll do

The listing is light on how the AI side works and heavy on the document skills it wants, so read it as: show a model how an expert actually handles Word and PDF in regulated work. The responsibilities describe the craft in detail: reviewing, editing and formatting documents to house and industry standards; managing tracked changes, comments and version control across large, messy files; building and filling dynamic forms and templates; extracting and consolidating data out of Word and PDF; and running document workflows for legal, regulatory and compliance projects.

There is also a teaching thread: training and supporting stakeholders on advanced features and good practice. Confidential material is part of the job, so discretion is explicitly expected.

The ad does not describe the task format (demonstrations, written explanations, evaluation of AI output), so ask before you commit.

Who fits

  • Three or more years of intensive, professional Word and PDF work
  • Advanced formatting, tracked changes, review and markup
  • A Master's, PhD or JD in a related field such as law, healthcare, academia, public policy or finance
  • Experience supporting Fortune 500 clients or similarly complex, regulated environments
  • Sound handling of confidential and sensitive material
  • Self-directed remote work to deadlines
  • Preferred: specialist backgrounds (legal professional, healthcare administrator, academic researcher, government consultant, finance or real estate operations), advanced PDF features such as form fields, digital signatures and secure handling, and a portfolio of document work

What it pays

$20–55/hour, micro1's published band. The graduate degree requirement sits awkwardly with a $20 floor; people with a JD or PhD are unlikely to take the bottom of this band, so find out where you would land. No compensation structure or hours are stated.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 49 openings
  • Values document mastery that paralegals, legal secretaries and research administrators build over years
  • Remote

Less good:

  • A graduate degree is required on top of the tool skills
  • Low floor relative to the credential bar
  • The AI task format is not described
  • US-based candidates are preferred (not required)
  • Contractor engagement, no benefits
