What you'll do
This is infrastructure work around AI data, not annotation. You build validation into the container build itself, so that a dataset, schema or model artifact that does not meet quality and compliance rules never ships. In practice the ad describes:
- Writing Dockerfiles with data-validation steps built in
- Adding LABEL metadata that records dataset versions, schemas and lineage
- Python or Bash scripts for schema checks, integrity checks and quality control
- Wiring those checks into CI/CD so a bad dataset fails the pipeline
- Documenting the labelling, validation and data-governance standards you set
You work alongside data engineering, machine learning and DevOps teams.
Who fits
- 4+ years as a DevOps engineer (the ad states this as the bar)
- Strong Docker and Dockerfile skills
- Python or Bash for validation scripting
- Knowledge of data formats, schemas and validation tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems and container registries
Nice to have: earlier LLM research or evaluation projects, experience testing developer tools or automation agents, MLOps and data versioning (Great Expectations is named), Kubernetes or container security.
What it pays
The ad does not publish a rate. Turing sets rates per project, so expect to learn the figure once you are matched; see Turing for what its listings usually disclose.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Hours, overlap and length are all stated up front: at least 4 hours a day and 20 hours a week, with 4 hours of overlap with PST, and a choice of 20, 30 or 40 hours a week
- The vetting is short: about 75 minutes, a 30 to 60 minute technical discussion
- A good fit if you want AI-adjacent work without writing prompts or grading answers
Less good:
- Only 2 to 4 weeks, with an expected start the following week
- Contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave
- Open only to India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey, Mexico and Brazil
- The 4-hour PST overlap is a real constraint from Asia
