What you'll do

This is the US-licensed version of Turing's dermatology review work. You check large language model output in your specialty: AI-written clinical text is judged for accuracy, harm and completeness, and diagnoses, treatment plans and summaries for dermatologic cases get your expert verdict. You also review skin images in a structured online tool, rating image usability (blur, lighting, exposure, colour, framing) and, where applicable, naming a likely condition with a confidence rating and your reasoning.

Feedback goes to AI researchers and clinicians working to bring model behaviour in line with evidence-based dermatology.

Who qualifies

  • Based in the US (mandatory), and fully licensed and practicing medicine in the USA
  • MD or MBBS with dermatology specialisation or an equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years of post-residency experience as a practicing dermatologist
  • Strong visual attention to detail and comfort with sensitive or graphic medical images
  • Able to use web annotation platforms, zoom tools and structured questionnaires
  • Preferred: medical content review, clinical research, annotation or AI/ML evaluation experience

What it pays

The ad does not publish a rate. Turing sets rates per project, so expect it to be settled once you are matched; see Turing.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • The pace is flexible: work at your own speed, as long as you reach at least 20 hours a week, which fits around a clinic better than a fixed shift
  • No fixed time-zone overlap is stated, unlike the India posting
  • Turing pays for the client certification you must take after onboarding

Less good:

  • No pay figure on the listing
  • A 12-week assignment only, as a contractor with no medical or paid leave
  • The post-onboarding certification is a further step before you can start
  • The ad does not describe the assessment or interview; Turing's help centre describes skill tests and, for some roles, a live interview
