Skills
  • clinical reasoning
  • evidence-based medicine
  • evaluation design

  • critical thinking

What you'll do

You act as the clinical judge for medical AI. Rather than labelling a pile of answers, you build the tests: evaluation frameworks, realistic clinical scenarios and assessment methods that show whether a model reasons the way a practising doctor would. The ad lists five strands of work:

  • Designing systematic evaluation frameworks for medical AI systems
  • Writing clinical scenarios that probe reasoning and decision-making
  • Building assessment methods that capture the nuance of real practice
  • Spotting gaps in the model's medical knowledge and reasoning
  • Working with AI researchers so the findings feed back into model improvement

The skill tags on the card (pediatrics, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, gynecologic oncology, public health) hint that Turing is staffing several specialties, but the ad itself accepts any specialty.

Who fits

  • A licensed physician (MD or DO) in active clinical practice, any specialty
  • Experience with clinical decision-making and evidence-based medicine
  • Interest in how AI can support clinical practice
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

The ad does not ask for prior AI or annotation experience, and it states no residence requirement.

What it pays

The ad does not publish a rate. Turing sets rates per project, so you would learn the figure only after matching; the Turing company page covers what is known about how pay works there.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Flexible scheduling built around your clinical commitments, fully remote
  • Open to any specialty, so it suits a working clinician rather than only academics
  • The task is test design, which uses clinical judgment more than repetitive labelling

Less good:

  • No rate is published
  • The initial term is only one month; extensions depend on performance and fit
  • The ad does not describe the assessment steps; Turing's help centre describes skill tests and, for some roles, a live interview
  • Up to 30 hours a week is a ceiling, not a guaranteed amount of work

About this listing

Posted by Turing on its jobs board in August 2025 and still open when read on 18 October 2026. The engagement terms (up to 30 hours a week, one month, possible extension) are Turing's own text; the framing of the work is ours. See Turing.
