How it works
Askable runs a participant panel for market and user research. You create a profile, and opportunities (interviews, surveys, unmoderated tests, prototype and website testing, card sorting) appear in your feed with the reward shown before you take part. Askable says it recruits, verifies, pays and maintains the panel itself. Anyone over 13 can join, and participants aged 13 to 18 need parental consent.
Separately, Askable says it supplies primary data from real experts to frontier AI labs. Its public pages do not explain whether general participants can join that work.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Each opportunity shows its reward up front, so you know what a session pays before you accept
- Askable states it is available in almost every country
Less good:
- Work is session-based and depends on whether studies match your profile; Askable does not publish how often opportunities appear
- Askable does not publish a payout schedule; one participant testimonial on its site says payment arrived right after the session, which is one person's account rather than a stated policy
- The "up to" hourly figure is a ceiling, not an average, and no typical rate is published
Comparable platform for paid studies and data work: Prolific.
