How it works

rustLabs says it provides expert data and RL environments for AI labs and has a network of more than 13,600 experts, including over 400 PhDs and MDs, across six domains. Its work for experts includes reviewing, ranking and correcting model output, building task environments that include verifiers, helping with rubrics and evaluations, and reviewing video and multimodal data. Experts apply through its experts portal.

Before project work, the site says contributors sign a contributor agreement, a confidentiality agreement and a code of conduct. Some projects also require government ID and selfie verification.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Remote work described as paid and in your own field
  • The agreements and verification requirements are stated openly on the site
  • Third-party listings describe a path of submitting proof of expertise, completing a calibration task and then choosing projects, which rustLabs does not itself detail

Less good:

  • rustLabs publishes no rates, payment methods, payout schedule or eligible countries. Third-party listings suggest roughly $20 to $100+ an hour, which the company does not confirm
  • Public information about the company is thin, so check the application page on its own site before sharing identity documents
  • The site does not describe the application steps
