What you'll do
You build the test material, then mark the model's attempt at it. The ad describes four jobs: writing realistic aerospace scenarios that run from requirements through design review, writing reference answers that spell out the engineering reasoning behind each decision, grading model output for technical accuracy and standards compliance, and flagging designs that read as plausible but would fail in flight.
That last task is the interesting one. A model can produce a fluent design rationale that quietly breaks a structural margin or a control assumption, and the value of a practising engineer here is catching what a plausible paragraph hides.
Who fits
- A degree in aerospace engineering or a closely related field
- At least 2 years of professional aerospace engineering experience
- Depth in at least one area; the ad names aerodynamics, structures, propulsion and GNC as examples
- Clear written English, because the reasoning behind each decision has to be documented, not just stated
- Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week
Preferred: flight test or wind tunnel test program experience, analysis tool depth (NASTRAN, ANSYS or CFD codes are named) and airworthiness or certification experience such as FAA or EASA.
What it pays
The board headlines $115/hour. The ad's own contract section states a range of $100–130/hour, paid weekly via Stripe, and says your rate is set from your experience and not negotiated down after you start. The minimum is 10 hours per week with no maximum, so you can scale up or down week to week. The ad also states there is no screen recording, no keystroke monitoring and no idle timers.
How hiring works
The ad lists five steps: an application of about five minutes (resume plus a few structured questions), a resume review against a published rubric with a decision on every application, a written assessment you may be asked to take for further placement, onboarding (contractor agreement, Stripe connection, platform access), and a project match to live work in your specialty, usually within a week of onboarding.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A stated pay range and weekly payment, with the rate tied to experience
- Fully remote and async with no fixed hours
- Ongoing project work, not single task batches
- The ad says every application gets a decision
Less good:
- A weekly floor of 10 hours is a real commitment
- Project match follows onboarding and is described as usually within a week, not guaranteed
- The ad does not say how many aerospace projects are running at any time
