What you'll do
You build the financial planning scenarios that AI models are tested on. That means writing realistic cases from goal discovery through plan delivery, writing reference answers that show the reasoning behind each recommendation (from retirement drawdown to insurance coverage), and grading model output for accuracy, completeness and fiduciary soundness.
The most distinctive task is flagging advice that reads plausibly but would harm a client. That is the kind of miss only a practitioner catches, and it is what the listing says the work is for.
Who fits
- An active CFP certification in good standing
- 2+ years of client-facing planning work
- Depth across retirement, tax, insurance and estate planning, not only investment selection
- Clear written English to document planning reasoning
- Able to commit at least 10 hours a week
Preferred: fee-only or fiduciary practice experience, additional credentials such as CPA, CFA or ChFC, and complex cases such as equity compensation or business owners. The form asks for your CFP status, optionally.
What it pays
The ad states $85 to $130/hr, and the board headlines $108/hr. The listing says your rate is set from your experience and is not negotiated down after you start. Pay is weekly via Stripe. The ad also states a 10-hour weekly minimum with no maximum, no screen recording, keystroke monitoring or idle timers, and independent-contractor status with ongoing project work rather than single task batches.
How hiring works
Apply in about five minutes with a resume and a few structured questions. Applications are read against a published rubric and each gets a decision. You may be asked to take a written assessment, then you sign the contractor agreement, connect Stripe and get platform access. The ad says you are usually matched to live work within a week of onboarding.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A wide stated range with a rate tied to experience
- Weekly Stripe pay and no monitoring software
- Work stays in your specialty, judged on planning judgment rather than volume
- No fixed hours; scale up or down week to week
Less good:
- The 10-hour weekly minimum is a real commitment for a working planner
- The CFP is required, so planners without it are out
- The board's $108/hr is a headline, not a guarantee of where your rate lands
