Skills
  • copywriting
  • content writing
  • llm evaluation
  • editing
  • prompt writing

What you'll do

You write and edit content that models are trained and tested on: prompts, responses, stories, articles, summaries and dialogues. The other half is evaluation, where you assess AI-generated text for fluency, coherence, factuality, creativity and bias, and give structured feedback on how well a model handles nuanced language and domain-specific writing. The ad says you would be working directly with one of AfterQuery's partners, and describes the company as a YC-backed startup.

Who qualifies

  • A bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Linguistics, Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of English content writing, copywriting or similar
  • A solid grasp of what LLMs can and cannot do
  • Strong writing and editing across styles and tones
  • 40 hours a week available for 3 to 6 months
  • Self-management and reliable deadlines

Preferred: prompt engineering or LLM evaluation experience, a second language (Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, French or German), NLP knowledge, and familiarity with human evaluation methods. The ad names no country requirement; "UK/US" is in the title only.

What it pays

$43/hr, the figure on the board. The ad text gives no range.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A long, stable engagement rather than one-off tasks
  • Remote with adaptable hours
  • Writing is the core skill, not coding

Less good:

  • 40 hours a week is a heavy commitment that rules out most people with another job
  • Independent contractor status, so no benefits
  • Posted in September 2025 and still listed, so check it is still being filled
  • The ad does not publish payment terms or hiring steps; see the company page for the general process
