What you'll do

You write and edit content for AI training and evaluation: complex research tasks that test autonomous AI systems, with prompts and responses crafted to probe where a model fails. The ad names the subject areas: sports analytics, financial analysis, patent research, academic planning and business intelligence. Accuracy matters, so part of the job is verifying facts against authoritative sources, then documenting your findings in detail.

It is a writing-and-fact-checking role more than a domain-expert one, which is why the bar is lower than most AfterQuery listings.

Who fits

  • 10 to 20 hours a week available, on a flexible schedule (required)
  • Fluent English, excellent writing and exceptional attention to detail (required)
  • Able to verify information from authoritative sources and work independently (required)
  • Preferred: domain expertise in sports statistics, SEC filings and market research, USPTO and citation analysis, university rankings and admissions, or competitive and market research

No degree or years of experience are stated.

What it pays

The board shows $15/hr and the ad gives no range. The ad calls the rates "top-of-market", which does not match the figure, so treat the board number as the one to plan around. The ad does not publish payment terms; see the company page for how AfterQuery pays.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Open to general writers, with no professional licence or degree stated
  • Remote with adaptable hours on an extended contract
  • Preferred domains are research-heavy, so curiosity about data sources counts for a lot

Less good:

  • $15/hr is the low end of AfterQuery's listings
  • Needs 10 to 20 hours a week of availability, which is a real block of time at this rate
  • Posted in September 2025 and still open, so ask whether work is currently flowing

About this listing

Read from the AfterQuery Experts board on 18 October 2026. The ad describes the work as an Independent Contractor position with a YC-backed startup. If AfterQuery's help centre applies here, expect an unpaid one-attempt assessment and ID verification. See AfterQuery.
