What you'll do

You write the hard cases that a customer support AI should be able to handle, then judge how it does. The ad lists the territory: conflict resolution, product troubleshooting, complaint handling, communication technique, empathy and de-escalation, policy interpretation and omnichannel support. You also evaluate model answers with detailed feedback against service best practice, and work with a team of customer service and technical experts to tune how difficult each question is.

If you have spent years on the phones or in a queue, this is the same judgment pointed at a model.

Who fits

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience as a customer service representative with a solid grasp of support operations and best practice
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and an eye for detail
  • Preferred: several years across industries and channels (phone, email, chat, social, in person); training, QA or customer experience work; CRM, escalation or retention experience; familiarity with AI-driven support tools

What it pays

The board shows $55/hr and the ad gives no range. The ad does not publish payment terms, minimum hours or a schedule; see the company page for how AfterQuery pays.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A high school diploma is enough to qualify
  • Remote and asynchronous, on your own schedule
  • Pay is well above typical support-desk wages

Less good:

  • The ad does not state hours, workload or project length
  • Writing hard scenarios is a different skill from handling tickets; expect to write a lot
  • The ad does not describe the hiring process
