Skills
  • dentistry
  • treatment planning
  • endodontics
  • periodontics
  • radiographic interpretation

What you'll do

You write the clinical cases that AI models are tested on, and then mark the models' answers. Scenarios include radiographic findings and treatment plans; you write a reference answer with the reasoning behind each treatment decision, grade model output for diagnostic accuracy and standard of care, and flag guidance that is unsafe, out of scope or fabricated, saying exactly why.

The breadth required (restorative, endodontics, periodontics and treatment planning) suggests general practice is the target, not a narrow specialty, though specialty training is a listed plus.

Who fits

  • A DDS or DMD with an active, unencumbered US dental license
  • At least 2 years of clinical practice
  • Breadth across restorative, endodontics, periodontics and treatment planning
  • Clear written English for documenting clinical reasoning
  • A commitment of at least 10 hours a week

Preferred: specialty training (endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics), faculty or continuing education teaching, and radiographic interpretation depth or practice ownership. The form optionally asks for your dental licence. The ad requires a US licence but does not state a residence requirement.

What it pays

The ad states $100 to $155 per hour, paid weekly via Stripe, with the rate set from your experience and not negotiated down later. The board headlines $128/hr. There is a 10-hour weekly minimum with no maximum, fully async hours, no screen recording, no keystroke monitoring and no idle timers. It is independent contractor work, described as ongoing project work.

How hiring works

Five steps: a five-minute application (resume plus structured questions), a resume review against a published rubric with a decision on every application, a possible written assessment, onboarding (contractor agreement, Stripe, platform access) and a project match, usually within a week.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • One of the higher bands in AfterQuery's medicine listings, with weekly Stripe pay
  • No chair time; you work the hours you choose
  • Uses clinical judgment, including radiograph reading, rather than data entry

Less good:

  • A US licence is required, so this is closed to dentists without one
  • A 10-hour weekly minimum
  • Placement depends on an assessment that AfterQuery's help centre describes as unpaid and single-attempt
