What you'll do

This is a research cohort rather than a production job. AfterQuery is assembling senior people from enterprise operations, across supply chain, finance and compliance, to judge how well frontier AI models reason about expert-level problems. The ad is explicit that the work is research and evaluation, and that your job is to define what "correct" and "excellent" look like on problems you already know well.

In practice that means three things: designing realistic scenarios and problem sets within your track, writing expert reference solutions and grading rubrics for them, and evaluating AI-generated answers for correctness, depth and domain judgment. The writing matters as much as the operations knowledge, because the rubrics and explanations you author are the product.

Who fits

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in operations (supply chain, finance or compliance) and a bachelor's degree; professional certifications are a plus
  • Currently or recently active in the field, hands-on rather than academic-adjacent
  • Strong written communication, since you will author technical explanations and structured feedback
  • Comfortable with independent, asynchronous, remote work

Preferred: a research or publication record, open-source or other recognised work product, experience reviewing or grading other people's technical work, and ERP or supply-chain systems (SAP, Oracle), FP&A modelling or compliance audit experience.

What it pays

The board headlines $135/hr. The ad text itself says compensation is $100–$170/hr depending on experience, so that is the range recorded here. Where you land in it is set by your experience, and the ad does not say how.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • One of the higher bands among AfterQuery's business roles
  • Fully remote and asynchronous, so it fits around a day job
  • Work that uses senior judgment rather than rote labelling

Less good:

  • The ad warns that candidates meeting fewer than 70% of the stated qualifications may be flagged for misrepresenting their experience, which could affect future project staffing, and says background checks are conducted. Apply only if you genuinely meet the bar
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
  • The ad does not publish hours, project length or payment terms; the company page covers how AfterQuery pays in general

AfterQuery's help centre describes an unpaid, one-attempt assessment and ID verification for expert pools; this listing does not describe its own hiring steps.
