Finance Expert: Undergraduate / Early Career

What you'll do

This is the entry-level finance track at AfterQuery. You use Excel, PowerPoint and financial reasoning to recreate the analyses, models and memos typical of investment banking, private equity and hedge fund work.

In practice that means writing problem sets and cases based on real investment logic, explaining valuation, modelling and deal reasoning in clear step-by-step prose, and evaluating model-generated outputs for accuracy, structure and realism. You also work with project leads and other experts so the material stays consistent.

The work is flexible and asynchronous, with roughly 10–15 hours a week expected when a project is active.

Who fits

• A completed internship at a bulge bracket or elite boutique investment bank, or a top-tier private equity or hedge fund
• The ability to turn complex finance into structured, step-by-step reasoning
• Exceptional attention to analytical and writing detail
• Interest in improving how AI learns real-world financial judgment
• Preferred: a current junior or senior undergraduate in Finance, Economics or a related field; prior experience building or reviewing financial models, transaction comps or valuation summaries; interest in fintech, AI or automation
