What you'll do
You create and refine financial reporting challenges that test whether an AI model can apply accounting principles to realistic situations, then validate its responses with detailed feedback tied to GAAP and reporting practice.
Topics named in the ad include revenue recognition, lease accounting, consolidations, fair value measurements, technical memos, footnote disclosures and SEC reporting requirements. You collaborate with other accounting and technical experts to set the difficulty so questions are challenging but still educational.
Who fits
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Proven experience in financial reporting, SEC reporting or technical accounting, with solid command of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred: several years in public companies or Big 4 firms, involvement with 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K filings, a CPA licence or master's in accounting, and familiarity with AI-driven accounting tools
The application form asks for your CPA, marked optional.
What it pays
The board shows $113/hour with no range in the text, so this listing records $113 as a single figure. It matches AfterQuery's Audit or Assurance and Forensic Accounting listings. The ad does not publish payment terms; see the AfterQuery company page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A strong hourly figure for work in your exact technical niche
- Remote and asynchronous, on your schedule
- The CPA is optional, so strong reporting people without a licence can apply
Less good:
- US GAAP focus: the ad does not mention IFRS
- Hours, volume and pay structure are not stated
- AfterQuery's help centre describes an unpaid, one-attempt assessment and ID verification
