What you'll do

The listing covers two varieties, and when you join you pick a track: Portuguese (Brazil) Native Speaker for Voice Recording, or Portuguese (Portugal) Native Speaker for Voice Recording. Either way the work is the same three tasks: recording Portuguese voice content, reviewing audio samples, and cross-checking spoken recordings against written text for accuracy, clarity, naturalness and guideline alignment.

The split matters more in Portuguese than in many languages. Brazilian and European Portuguese differ sharply in vowel reduction, rhythm, pronoun placement and everyday vocabulary, and a line that sounds natural in São Paulo can sound stilted in Lisbon (and the other way round). The listing asks for an understanding of regional accents, phrasing, tone and cultural nuance across Brazil or Portugal, so expect to be judged against your own variety, not a blended standard.

The listing does not say what the recordings are for, how long sessions are, or how work is divided between the two tracks.

Who fits

  • Native-level Portuguese
  • Strong familiarity with Portuguese as used in Brazil or in Portugal, matching the track you choose
  • A clear speaking voice and close listening for pronunciation or phrasing problems
  • Comfort following detailed guidelines

The locale is a language requirement, not a residence one: the listing does not say you must live in Brazil or Portugal. No degree, years of experience or AI background is required. Equipment is not mentioned; for recording, a quiet room and a decent microphone are the practical minimum.

What it pays

$17.00 an hour, the same for both tracks and the same as Invisible's other voice and audio listings. For a Brazil-based contractor paid in US dollars, that compares well with much local freelance language work; for someone in Portugal it is closer to the low end. Contract terms say payment is issued weekly via Stripe or Wise, and that Invisible cannot support H-1B or STEM OPT contractors.

Onboarding: upload your résumé (about 5 minutes) and unlock paid projects (about 30 minutes, an unpaid qualification step).

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Separate tracks for Brazilian and European Portuguese, so each variety is valued on its own terms
  • Fully remote and on your own schedule
  • Weekly Stripe or Wise payment named in the terms
  • Short onboarding by the listing's estimate

Less good:

  • $17 an hour flat, with no difference between tracks
  • About 30 minutes of unpaid qualification
  • No minimum amount of work; projects can end early
  • No word on end use, session length or available hours
  • No H-1B or STEM OPT contractors

About this listing
