What you'll do

You keep a product catalogue clean. Each unit is an incoming product listing, with its text and images, and you decide what happens to it: match it to a product already in the catalogue, create a new entry when nothing matches, or dismiss it as ineligible. Along the way you flag odd cases and inconsistencies, and you can suggest better categories and tags.

The platform is described only as an online shopping and product-recommendation service; the client is not named. The goal, per the ad, is a catalogue without duplicates or mismatches, with near-identical products handled consistently.

That last point is where the judgment is. Telling a phone case from a different phone case is easy; deciding whether a listing for the 500 ml version of a product is the same catalogue item as the 1 litre one, or whether two sellers' photos show the same model, is where the project's guidelines will matter, and where accuracy is likely to be checked. Expect rules that take some reading before you are fast.

Who fits

  • An associate degree or equivalent, listed as the requirement on the opportunity
  • A careful eye for small differences between near-identical products
  • Comfort making a quick call on each item and flagging what does not fit the rules

Shoppers who know a product category well, and anyone who has done catalogue, marketplace or data-entry work, will find the decisions familiar. The ad names no language requirement and no country of residence.

How to get in

Joining takes a brief eligibility survey and a Product Entry Specialist Assessment of about 15 minutes. Meridial's general onboarding also asks for a resume (about 5 minutes) and an "unlock paid projects" step of about 30 minutes. That time is unpaid, and completing the survey does not guarantee a place on the project.

What it pays

$0.15 per unit, Invisible's published fee. The ad gives no time per unit, so the hourly equivalent is unknown. As our own arithmetic: at 4 units a minute you would earn $36 an hour, at 1 a minute $9. Speed on simple matches and the share of hard edge cases will decide which end you land on, so time your first batch before committing hours.

Payment is weekly via Stripe or Wise.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A low entry bar: associate degree level, no specialist background
  • Short, clear decisions that are easy to fit around other work
  • Weekly payment on Stripe or Wise
  • Fully remote on your own schedule, free to accept or reject projects

Less good:

  • Per-unit pay with no stated time per unit, so earnings depend entirely on your speed
  • An unpaid survey, assessment and onboarding before any paid work
  • Placement is not guaranteed after the survey
  • No minimum amount of work, and projects can be shortened or ended early
  • H-1B and STEM OPT holders are excluded
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, and tax is yours to handle
