What you'll do

You wear your phone on a head strap and film yourself doing everyday housework, so the footage shows the task the way you see it, hands and all. It is data collection for AI systems that need to understand physical household activity; there is no editing or labelling on your side.

Getting in involves a device compatibility check and an AI-run interview, and anyone who meets the location and equipment rules is then asked to verify their identity within 48 hours of being contacted. No contract is issued until that is done.

Who can apply

  • Residence in one of the 40 states the ad lists, and eligibility to work in the US
  • An iPhone 12 or later, a Google Pixel 6 to 9, or a Samsung Galaxy S21 or later
  • Comfort wearing the phone mount that gets shipped to you
  • The physical ability to do repetitive movement tasks safely

Check your state before applying. The ad's list covers Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington and DC are not on it. The ad does not say why.

What it pays

$10–15 per hour of recorded video that meets the project guidelines. The unit is accepted footage, not time spent, so setup and rejected clips are unpaid, and the ad does not say what puts you at $10 versus $15.

There is also a $20 signing bonus, framed as reimbursement for the head strap, paid after your first 20 hours of work.

micro1 runs the same job in Latin America at $6/hour, and a Spanish-language US listing (Graba Videos desde Casa) on the same $10–15 band but with a stated 10–15 hours of video a week minimum and pay per video.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • No experience needed; any recent phone from the three named lines qualifies
  • 1,000 openings
  • The head strap cost comes back as a bonus
  • Fully remote from home

Less good:

  • Ten states and DC are excluded, including California and New Jersey
  • Pay counts accepted video only
  • You are filming your home, so mind what ends up in frame
  • Identity verification within 48 hours is required
  • Start depends on the head strap's shipping time; no project length or weekly hours are stated
