What you'll do
You review what an AI system says about mental health and decide whether a clinician would stand behind it: is the content accurate, is it ethical, and does it make sense for someone from the culture and language it is addressed to. When it falls short, you identify the bias or error and propose an evidence-based fix.
The other half is creation. You develop and review training data built from psychological case studies, assessments and conversations, including clinical scenarios, research vignettes and therapeutic dialogues. The bilingual requirement is the point of the role: a response that is sound in English can be clumsy or harmful once it crosses into another language, where idioms of distress, stigma and family roles differ. You bring the clinical frame and the cultural one at the same time.
There is collaborative work too: helping multidisciplinary teams fold psychological frameworks into model training, and contributing to the documentation that guides it.
Who qualifies
- A completed PhD in Psychology, or an MD with a completed psychiatry residency
- Native proficiency in at least one of: French, Malay, Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, Urdu, Swahili, Bulgarian, Tagalog, Polish, Marathi, Lithuanian, Georgian, Bengali, Vietnamese or Indonesian
- Advanced English communication
- Experience in clinical practice, research, or teaching psychology or psychiatry in higher education
- The ability to explain complex psychological concepts clearly in writing and speech
- Awareness of cultural and ethical considerations in global mental health
Interdisciplinary or technology-project experience is a plus. No AI experience is required.
What it pays
$100–200/hour, micro1's published band, which matches its other doctoral psychology listings such as Developmental Psychology (PhD). The ad does not say what decides placement between the two ends, and it does not state weekly hours or a project length.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A top-tier rate for clinical expertise, and 70 openings
- Sixteen qualifying languages, several of them (Georgian, Lithuanian, Marathi, Swahili) rarely asked for on AI training boards
- The work draws on clinical judgement rather than generic annotation
- Remote, with no country restriction on the listing
Less good:
- The credential bar is hard: a completed doctorate or psychiatry residency, not a master's or licence alone
- Reviewing simulated clinical material, including difficult scenarios, can be emotionally heavy
- A 2x spread with no published basis for placement
- No hours, duration or start date stated
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
