What you'll do
The ad's full role title adds "Executive Presentation Review", which is the job. You receive an image of a client business slide, rebuild it from scratch in PowerPoint, and make it better: tighter message hierarchy, action titles that actually say something, cleaner data visualisation, and a flow that works in front of executives.
The change log is as important as the slide. For every edit you record why you made it, and just as deliberately you defend what you chose to leave alone. That second half is what separates this from ordinary deck polishing: the model being trained needs to learn restraint as well as improvement, and the ad asks you to balance design best practice against the intent of the original.
Each slide plus its log is expected to take one to two hours.
Who fits
- Five or more years at a recognised advertising agency, holding company or brand consultancy, or on an in-house brand or marketing team at a major brand or technology company
- A track record of client-facing or executive decks: new business pitches, campaign reviews, strategic brand presentations
- Advanced PowerPoint, fast enough to reconstruct a slide from an image without friction
- The ability to turn complex data into a clear visual
- Sharp copy editing and a critical eye
Prior experience evaluating AI output is listed as a plus, not a requirement. The skills list on the card also names sales, GTM and consulting, so strategy consultants who built their own decks may fit as well as agency creatives.
What it pays
$150–350/hour, one of the highest bands among micro1's creative listings. Nothing says what decides placement across a $200 spread. With a stated one to two hours per slide, a completed assignment is worth somewhere between $150 and $700 on the published band; that is our arithmetic, not a per-task figure from the ad, and the ad does not say whether pay is per hour or per assignment.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Exceptional rate for deck work agency people do daily
- 15 openings, posted yesterday, flagged high demand
- Defined unit of work with a stated time budget
- No AI background needed
Less good:
- Five years at a recognised agency or major brand is a real filter
- Rebuilding a slide from an image in PowerPoint is fiddly; the one to two hours includes that
- No pay mechanism, weekly hours or project length stated
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
