What you'll do
This is safety-critical evaluation. An AI system is being trained to respond to young people affected by abuse, and your clinical judgment decides whether its guidance is accurate, sensitive and safe.
The work has four strands:
- Case scenarios: analyse and help build case-based scenarios that reflect how youth abuse actually presents, including the complications that make it hard to recognise and respond to
- Response review: read model-generated mental-health guidance on abuse cases and identify clinical and ethical errors, gaps and risks
- Best-practice content: write and curate trauma-informed care guidance for young survivors that the system can learn from
- Iteration: work through review cycles with a cross-disciplinary team and document recommendations to make the system more sensitive and safer for vulnerable users
The ad makes a point of wanting people for whom this is the primary clinical focus, not an occasional caseload. That matters for the review work: spotting a response that is technically reasonable but would retraumatise a child takes lived clinical experience.
Who fits
All listed as preferred:
- An MD, a PhD in psychology or a PhD in social work, with completed credentials
- Extensive clinical work with youth who are victims of abuse, as a primary or exclusive focus
- Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed practice and interventions for young survivors
- Active clinical engagement, with most of your working time spent supporting abuse victims
- A firm commitment to ethics, privacy and participant wellbeing
No country or licensing jurisdiction is stated.
What it pays
$100–200/hour, micro1's published band, among the higher rates on the board for clinical work. No compensation structure, weekly hours or project length is stated. Given that active practice is part of the profile, this looks designed to sit alongside a clinical caseload; confirm the expected hours before you commit.
A note on the material
Reviewing AI responses to abuse scenarios means reading detailed descriptions of harm to children, repeatedly and outside the supervision structures a clinic provides. The ad does not mention wellbeing support or content-exposure limits; it is reasonable to ask about both.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A top-tier band for clinical expertise
- Directly shapes how an AI responds to some of its most vulnerable users
- Designed for active clinicians, not only people who have left practice
Less good:
- A narrow profile: only 8 openings, and a primary abuse-focused caseload is expected
- No stated support for exposure to distressing material
- No compensation structure, hours, duration or hiring steps published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
