What you'll do
Where micro1's other editing listings lean on cutting or asset management, this one is about looking at the image. You annotate video inside DaVinci Resolve against detailed guidelines, and your colour correction and grading knowledge is what you bring to it: judging the characteristics of footage, its quality, clarity and technical attributes, and labelling and commenting on clips so a model gets structured examples of what it is seeing.
You also write down how you reached each call, give feedback on the annotation process and tools, and work to the project's milestones and submission rules. The ad does not describe the footage or the customer.
Who fits
- Hands-on DaVinci Resolve in a post-production setting
- Solid fundamentals in editing, colour correction and grading
- Working knowledge of digital video formats and their technical specs
- Precise written annotations and the ability to follow complex instructions
- Openness to feedback as the guidelines evolve
The ad names entry and mid-level professionals as the ideal fit. Data annotation or structured labelling experience is a plus, not a requirement.
What it pays
$15–80/hour, the same band as micro1's Adobe, Avid, Final Cut Pro and 3D animation listings. Colourists usually bill well above the floor, so read $15 as a real possibility rather than a formality until an offer says otherwise. No pay mechanism, hours or duration is published.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Resolve is free to download, so the software is no barrier
- Grading knowledge goes into judging the footage
- Open to early-career colourists and editors
- Remote, no country restriction named
Less good:
- One opening
- A $15–80 band with no stated basis
- Grading judgments depend on a calibrated display; the ad does not say whether monitor setup matters
- No hours, duration or pay structure on the listing
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
