What you'll do

The ad describes an earnings season, rebuilt as training data. You review and contribute to datasets modelled on real equity research: analysing earnings reports, revising estimates, and synthesising peer benchmarking.

The heavier deliverables are written. You produce detailed evaluations of company models (revenue, margin, cash flow and valuation drivers), concise research summaries and event-driven updates, and investment theses that connect qualitative and quantitative factors to a view. You also identify the industry trends, sector metrics and catalysts that fundamental analysis turns on, and give the project team feedback on data quality.

In practice this means writing the note you would publish, but with the working made explicit enough that a model can follow why an estimate moved.

Who fits

• Extensive sell-side experience as a Research Associate with direct ownership of company models and written research, or as a publishing or lead Research Analyst (VP and Director titles included)
• Independent coverage of several companies through multiple earnings cycles, with models maintained throughout
• Depth in at least one sector (the ad cites banks, insurance and biotech as examples)
• A proven ability to connect business drivers to financial outcomes and valuation
• Experience forming and defending investment views, with accountability for their accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Direct model ownership is the dividing line. Associates who supported a senior analyst without owning the model are not quite who the ad is describing. No prior AI experience is needed.
