Skills
  • video capture
  • first-person video
  • household tasks
  • attention to detail

What you'll do

You record your normal household tasks (cooking, tidying, laundry and the like) from a first-person view, with your phone mounted on a head strap. The footage feeds AI systems that need to see how people use their hands and move through a home. Beyond that, the ad is brief: record specified tasks, keep the videos synchronised, and pass a device check and an AI interview during onboarding.

The ad is written in Portuguese, which suggests micro1 is recruiting Portuguese speakers living in the US, but the task itself is filming rather than speaking, and the ad does not say whether any narration or written work in Portuguese is involved.

Who fits

  • A supported phone: iPhone 12 or newer, Google Pixel 6 to 9 (newer Pixels are not listed) or Samsung Galaxy S21 or newer
  • Willingness to wear a phone head mount
  • The physical ability to repeat movement tasks safely
  • Eligibility to work in the US
  • Residence in one of the listed states (see below)
  • Ability to complete an identity check within 48 hours of being contacted; the contract is only sent after it

Where it's open

Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. California, New York, New Jersey, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona and several others are not on the list.

What it pays

$10–15/hour, paid per hour of submitted video that meets the project guidelines. That is an hour of footage, not an hour of your time, so setup and any rejected clips are unpaid. The ad does not say what decides the rate within the band.

micro1 also says it pays a $20 hiring bonus that also reimburses the head strap, once you complete 20 hours of work.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • No experience or AI background required
  • You film chores you would do anyway
  • The head-strap cost is reimbursed, which the Latin American sibling listing does not offer
  • 1,000 openings and immediate starts, gated only by strap delivery

Less good:

  • Pay counts accepted footage only
  • The reimbursement only arrives after 20 hours
  • Recording inside your home: think about what and who is in frame
  • The state list leaves out many large states
  • Identity verification on a 48-hour clock
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits

About this listing

Read on micro1's jobs portal on 24 September 2026, posted about two months earlier. The state list, device rules, identity check and bonus terms are micro1's text; the notes on effective pay and the missing states are ours. A Latin American version of the project, Gravador(a) de Vídeos com Smartphone, pays $6/hour. See micro1.
