  • data collection

What you'll do

You record your normal day from your own point of view. You clip your smartphone to a simple head mount, go about your routine, and film what you do: anything from household chores to a walk around the neighbourhood. Afterwards you upload the files through Terac's platform for review and approval.

The ad says the videos help train computer vision systems to understand everyday environments, and that the project depends on authentic, unscripted footage of routine tasks. So the value is in not staging anything.

Who fits

  • Ordinary smartphone users comfortable filming their routine from a first-person view
  • Access to a reliable smartphone and a compatible head mount
  • Students, remote workers, stay-at-home parents and anyone willing to record their routine are named as welcome
  • The ad and the work are in Portuguese; the ad names no country, so we have not set a location requirement

No specialised kit is needed. The ad says outright that you do not need something like a GoPro.

What it pays

$5/hour, a single published figure. This is a low rate by the standards of expert AI work and reflects that no professional skill is asked for. The ad does not say how paid hours are counted (recorded footage, approved footage or time spent), so check that on Terac before you start.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • No expertise or special equipment beyond a phone and a head mount
  • You film things you would be doing anyway
  • Open worldwide, in Portuguese

Less good:

  • $5/hour is modest, and files are reviewed and approved before they count
  • You are filming your home and surroundings, so think about who and what appears in frame; the ad does not describe how the footage is stored or shared beyond training computer vision
  • You need to buy or already own a head mount
  • The ad does not say how many hours of footage are wanted
