What you'll do

The customer is building a large-scale Italian audio dataset, and you supply part of it: scripted and prompted recordings, delivered clean, with background noise kept to a minimum and speech that stays natural even when read. Volume is the point of the project, so consistency across sessions (same mic position, same room, same levels) matters as much as any single take.

The first step is a sample recording made on your best setup, which is part of micro1's evaluation, and the ad states that you will need your professional equipment during the interview. After that, you work with project managers and technical contacts on quality, suggest improvements to the recording guidelines from your own experience, and transfer files securely on schedule.

This listing asks explicitly for scripted-audio experience such as voiceover, narration or dubbing, and for diction described as impeccable. Italy's strong dubbing tradition means there is a real pool of professionals this fits; the ad does not say whether a neutral standard accent is required or regional accents are welcome.

Who fits

  • Native Italian with impeccable diction and pronunciation
  • At least three years of professional audio recording or voice work
  • Command of industry-standard audio hardware and software
  • Your own high-quality recording setup, capable of polished samples
  • Clear written and spoken communication, and care with documentation

Media, tech or linguistic data project experience is a plus. No AI experience is required, and no English level is stated.

What it pays

$20–40/hour, micro1's published band, matching its Dutch and German recording roles. For a working voice professional this sits below typical session rates; the attraction is steady remote volume rather than rate. The ad does not say how recording time is counted or what earns the upper end.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Suited to voiceover, narration and dubbing professionals with a home studio
  • A large-scale project with 25 openings
  • You can suggest changes to the recording guidelines from your own experience
  • Remote, with no country restriction on the listing

Less good:

  • Equipment and acoustic treatment at your own cost
  • Below typical professional voice session rates
  • Accent expectations not stated
  • Posted about two months ago; check it is still actively hiring
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
