What you'll do
You review mental health material, case studies and simulated patient interactions relevant to military and veteran populations, and give the expert feedback that sharpens a model's grasp of diagnostic process, clinical best practice and therapeutic approach. Beyond review, you create: prompts, responses and scenarios that reflect what service members and veterans actually present with.
A specific part of the brief is the tacit knowledge: domain terminology, cultural nuance, and the communication techniques that work with this population and not necessarily with others. That is the material a general-purpose model gets wrong, and clinical accuracy, relevance and sensitivity to this group are the standard your contributions are held to.
Note that this is not purely asynchronous work. Virtual discussions and consultative sessions to align on project goals are part of the brief, so expect some scheduled time alongside the written output.
Speak one of these languages? Say so
This sits at the bottom of the ad, under preferred qualifications, and it is the most actionable line on the page. Applicants with proficiency in one or more of these are being prioritised: Japanese, French, Tagalog, Malay, Lithuanian, Russian, Georgian, Polish, Marathi, Bengali, Urdu, Vietnamese, Swahili, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian, Turkish, Gujarati, or Bulgarian.
None is required (the credential bar below is what gates the role), but if you hold one, put it where the screening questions will see it. On a listing with ten openings and a rate this high, a priority signal is worth using.
What you need
- A medical doctor qualified in psychiatry with residency completed, or a psychologist with a PhD completed. Both are stated explicitly, and this is the gate
- Demonstrated direct patient care experience with military or veteran populations
- Deep familiarity with trauma, PTSD, TBI, adjustment disorders and other conditions prevalent among service members
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, including translating clinical concepts for non-clinical audiences
- Experience developing or reviewing clinical content, training materials or assessment tools
- Strong attention to detail, clinical accuracy and cultural competence
These are filed as "preferred qualifications", but the credential line is not the kind that flexes. That excludes a large group: much of the day-to-day mental health care delivered to service members and veterans is done by master's-level clinicians (LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs), and this listing does not admit them, whatever their caseload.
What it pays
$100–200/hour. The band is $100 wide with no published basis for where in it you land.
The ad carries no compensation-structure section at all, so whether the hourly figure buys your time or is a per-task equivalent is unanswered. At $200/hour that is the single most consequential thing missing from the page. Ask before you accept.
Worth knowing
Good:
- $100–200/hour for remote clinical judgement, with no caseload of your own attached
- Ten openings, which is generous for a role with this credential bar
- Your existing specialty is the whole qualification; no AI background is asked for
- Proficiency in any of nineteen named languages is an explicit advantage, and multilingual clinicians are rarely paid for that directly
- The work sits inside scope of practice: review, scenario authoring, clinical judgement
Less good:
- No compensation structure stated anywhere on the listing, which at this rate matters more than on most
- The MD-or-PhD gate excludes the master's-level clinicians who deliver much of this care in practice
- Not fully asynchronous: virtual discussions and consultative sessions are part of the brief, which means scheduling across time zones
- No screening process and no start timeline described
- A $100-wide band with no published basis for placement
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
- Neither the customer nor how the trained model will be deployed is named, which is worth weighing when the population is one with elevated suicide risk
About this listing
Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal, confirmed open on 7 September 2026. The $100–200/hour band, the scope of work, the credential requirements and the language priority list are its own published text for this listing.
The nineteen languages are prioritised rather than required, so the language field is left empty rather than asserting a requirement the ad did not make. No country restriction is named on the ad itself, so eligibility is left open. We could not verify the pay structure or the per-task rate; neither is stated. Screening and payment run at the platform level. See micro1.
